DD7: Imagination

More Dirty Diamonds! This was the first, but far from the last time I drew my childhood home. This was also the beginning of my life long love of digital ink washes and how absolutely gorgeous they are in print.

The first page of a grayscale comic. The author invites the reader to their childhood home, an old house far out on the countryside. Creaky stairs, howling wind... a creepy experience. Luckily, the author has a super power.
Second page. The author explains that with their imagination, they can conjure a fire in the dark and shelter for stormy nights. Companionship when they're alone, and a sword and shield to fight whatever trouble is brewing.
Third page. The author is slaying a dragon, revealing real life problems like taxes and divorce as they cut the beast into slices. Last page. The author admits that sometimes it takes a lot out of them to pretend everything is fine... good thing they have a strong imagination and can show a composed mask to the outside world.
